The
USB-RAD121 is a radiation detector that runs completely off your computer's USB port. The device features a classic geiger counter click and
light pulse for every count registered, while radiation levels are
displayed on the computer. The simple RadGraph software interface displays and
graphs readings over time, and even allows the readings to be streamed
to a personal webpage.
Make sure your home or office is safe from radiation by monitoring it with the USB-RAD121 geiger counter!
"Very good quality device with all the attributes of modern technology.
I got the USB-RAD121. Everything was delivered in complete order and at the first touch you feel professionally designed and assembled unit. Installation of device driver and software to 64-bit Windows 7 was easy and straightforward. GUI interface is quite complex, but has no perception of the screen cluttered with many symbols, buttons and windows." - Alexandre, Cambridge, New Zealand

Calibrate loop systems to meet IEC/EN 60118-4 standards
The DSP-523 uses a powerful digital signal
processor that sets a new standard for AC gaussmeters. Now you can ignore powerlines, bandpass powerlines and analyze powerline harmonics, all with one simple meter.
The first line shows you the total, unfiltered field strength. The second line shows the field strength with one of four digital filters selected:
Ignore 60Hz + Harmonics
Ignore 60Hz Only
Bandpass 60Hz + Harmonics
Bandpass 60Hz Only
Selectable axis, graphing, max hold, and a variable backlight are just icing on the cake.
No other gaussmeter has the ability to accurately notch or bandpass powerline
fields and harmonics while still passing other frequencies. Easy to use, and
innovative.
50 Hz European Fields
Need to use the meter in
Europe where power line are 50Hz instead of 60Hz? No problem, you can
switch between 50Hz and 60Hz filtering in the menu. Simple.

Powerline Field Measurements
Powerline Quality and Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) analysis
Measurement of DC or combustion motor electromagnetic fields
Let's say you want to measure the fields generated by a combustion or
DC motor such as the fields inside your car. These fields aren't at
powerline frequencies, but in the electrically dense environment we
live in today, a regular gaussmeter's readings will be distorted by
surrounding powerline fields. How would you measure the 80Hz refresh
rate from an LCD monitor? What about paranormal research, where you're
looking for EMF anomalies but want to be sure you're not measuring
man-made fields? What if you could ignore 60Hz and harmonics of 60Hz,
to only measure fields NOT related to powerlines? Now you can.
60Hz+Harmonics Notched Frequency Response
The picture to the right
shows the meter measuring the fields from a transformer, which are at powerline frequencies. The meter shows a total field strength of 186.8 mG, but the meter ignores it for the second reading, showing just 0.7 mG from other sources:
Ignoring 60Hz Only
What if you want to measure the field strength of the power line harmonics, or
accurately measure a field that is close to a harmonic of 60Hz (190Hz
for example)? The DSP-523 allows you to do this as well, by only ignoring 60Hz, but measuring everything else.
Take measurements with
a narrow bandpass filter centered at 60Hz, allowing you to accurately
measure powerlines without distortion from harmonics. Or, bandpass on
60Hz + Harmonics, which tells you the total field strength due to
powerlines, including all harmonics.

Measuring Power Line Magnetic Fields without Harmonics
Sometimes
you want to see how “clean” the 60Hz sine wave from an AC powered
device is. When a sine wave is pure or “clean”, it will only contain
the fundamental frequency (60Hz Only), but when a sine wave is “dirty”
from power glitches or other faults, it will contain harmonics of the
fundamental frequency (120Hz, 180Hz, etc). Take measurements with a very narrow bandpass filter at 60Hz, and compare that to the overall unfiltered field strength. For a clean sine wave, these measurements will be almost the same.
"The ability to filter 50/60Hz contamination makes the DSP-523 the only truly useful device for investigation and research" - Stephen Z.
The DSP-523 has really set a new standard for EMF meters. It is
full-featured, sensitive, easy to operate and overall a sturdy and
high-quality device. In my opinion, the ability to filter 50/60Hz
contamination makes the DSP-523 the only truly useful device for
investigation and research.
The controls and interface were
also very well designed. When I first read the documentation I must
admit I was a bit intimidated by the myriad of features available on
the DSP-523. However, after using the device for a few minutes I had
no trouble understanding the interface and navigating the menus. That
sort of usability for a full-featured device is not trivial to design.

"Compared to the DSP-523, the KII meters had no value in the field" - Michael J.
I had a chance to use the DSP-523 yesterday on location concurrently
with two KII and one Cell Sensor EMF Meters. We also had 3 single axis
arrays placed in the area. Throughout the evening we received several
2-3mg spikes on one of the KII's, one spike on the second KII and one
3mG hit on an array. We were in a location with no man-made immediate
power sources or exterior lighting as it was outdoors with power lines
approximately 50 yards away from our central area. Throughout the
evening we were also able to clearly see a pattern of stable EMF in the
local area measuring .03 - .50 mg on the DSP-523 as well as see the
powerline contamination which routinely stayed constant at .10 to
frequent 3.90x spikes. Being able to isolate and watch the power line
EMF in the field was immediate confirmation of the false positive
occasional spikes on the KIIs. The LED was incredibly easy to read
throughout the evening as well. There was only one inconsistent reading
received the entire evening, which was recorded on the DSP-523 of 4.92
and never replicated and was outside the normal recorded range for the
power lines. In my opinion, compared to the DSP-523, the KII meters had
no value in the field next to the DSP-523's accuracy and ability to
filter power line noise! Even in 33 degree weather, the meter was
stable, easy to read with no temperature related issues as well! While
2 of 3 arrays failed prematurely due to battery loss directly related
to conditions. - Michael J.
